Cory Asbury announced on his social media that he would be releasing new music on January 24, Cory Asbury shared the story behind the song in an interview published on the Bethel Music website on January 23, , saying:. We had a few days off in Redding, California and I went to a house that overlooks the Sacramento River where our team usually meets to write music. My soul felt tired and weary, and I sat down at the piano because music is therapy for me. I just poured it out before God and went nuts. I did this for minutes until this song came out, "You never want it perfect, you just want my heart. Asbury added that during his hiatus, Benjamin Hastings had visited him at his home in Michigan and opined that the lyric was a verse, not a chorus, and from there on, began writing out the song. In the song's eleventh week on Christian Airplay, the song reached No. The acoustic music video of "The Father's House" performed by Cory Asbury was released on Apple Music on January 24, , with the lyric video of the song being published on Bethel Music's YouTube channel on the same day.
The most beloved devotional of all time.
Am I a holy, innocent child of God as a result of my identification with my Lord and Savior? The only abiding reality is God Himself, and His order comes to me moment by moment. Am I continually in touch with the reality of God, or do I pray only when things have gone wrong— when there is some disturbance in my life? I must learn to identify myself closely with my Lord in ways of holy fellowship and oneness that some of us have not yet even begun to learn. Think about your own circumstances. Is the grace of His ministering life being worked out through you in your home, your business, and in your circle of friends? Have you been wondering why you are going through certain circumstances? In fact, it is not that you have to go through them.
Unfortunately, it does not get easier, just different. Any advice from people who have gone through this would be awesome. I think the most important thing is to bring up the issues as questions rather than points as why she's wrong.
